I’m back to working on my indie game project from zero to hero, although, I should say, I never really abandon it. So, “back to working” might not be the right phrase. Let’s say, really, that what I’m doing is dedicating more time to the project on a regular basis.
This video serves a dual purpose:
- Firstly, to showcase my Indie Game Documentation and the current state of the GDD, or Game Design Document. In my case, I call it a “Design Manual,” because it’s not a single document.
- On the other hand, you’ll notice I’ve started speaking in English. As I explain in the opening seconds, the gaming industry is in English, and adapting to that is essential. The good news is that I plan to release the game in both Spanish and English (especially since the original concept for the game is in Spanish).
It also has a hidden goal: to show how high-level indie game documentation should look like. You’ll notice that these documents don’t go into detailed numbers or the technical side of the design.
In my opinion, having a clear vision of the game’s design and purpose comes first, before getting down to fine-tuning numbers and balancing combat details.
I’ll leave you with the video to get a sense of the project. Give it a like, subscribe, and share it with your friends.
