In our program about the Game Awards we mentioned our interest in playing It Takes Two, winner of best game of the year and many other awards.
And I’ll say, at the time I was very disappointed that Psychonauts wasn’t the winner. But after playing It Takes Two, I have to admit that I totally understand why it was the winner. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still in love with Psychonauts and I think it’s one of the best games I’ve ever played, but It Takes Two dares to talk about themes we’ve never seen before in a video game.
Divorce, relationship problems, abandonment complex and other even more heartbreaking things, the game takes us from ecstasy to pain from one scene to the next, inviting us on a roller coaster of emotions that I don’t remember experiencing in another title.
